or Weekend 2 (the old Part 2) for half price.
As of 2008,
the
EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) has changed the requirements
for the EMDR Basic Training Curriculum.
See <http://www.emdria.org/displaycommon.cfm?an=1&subarticlenbr=281.> for
details of the new requirements.
EMDRIA
Approved Basic Training now requires 10 hours of group consultation
in addition to 20 hours of instruction
and 20 hours of supervised practicum. Ten hours of group consultation
is to be provided in developmental increments to extend over
the
course
of the training.
Consultation can be obtained from EMDRIA Approved Consultants who
are EMDR Institute Facilitators.
The EMDR Institute
is offering a Weekend 2 training June 5-7 in Charlotte,
NC.
For
information and registration, click on http://www.emdr.com.
People matriculating
from EMDR Institute Part 1 to Weekend 2:
People can do this provided they 1) do a 3 hour makeup with a facilitator
for the practicum they will miss by not having taken Weekend
1, 2) purchase the Weekend 1 manual, and 3) complete 5 hours
of consultation prior to taking Weekend 2. The participant should
have a letter from an EMDR Institute Facilitator to verify completion
the 3 hour practicum.”
For further explanation you can contact Robbie
Dunton, the EMDR Institute administrator, at
831-761-1040.
The EMDR Institute Certificate of Completion is not the
same thing as EMDRIA Certification in EMDR.

for further information.
The Energy
Healing Resources website
is devoted to bringing useful information on a variety of
mental health topics to clinicians and the general public. It
is a project of Gary
Peterson, M.D.
This website
has as a major area of focus, the "power therapies." These
are a group of psychotherapy processes that incorporate a dual
attention task that appears to speed processing. The power
therapies that are addressed in this website are: EMDR, and energy
psychotherapies. In addition, there is a section on the clinical
area of dissociative disorders.
The
website includes a listing of therapists trained
in specific methods.
