Healing Resources is a venture of Gary
Peterson, M.D.
As a
mental health care provider for over twenty years, Dr. Peterson
has sought effective alternative methods of treating his patients
to complement traditional methods of psychotherapy and medication.
This website
is devoted to bringing useful information on these topics to clinicians
and the general public.
Dr. Gary Peterson
is a physician dedicated to distinguished healthcare. He combines
careful diagnostic assessment with innovative therapeutic interventions
offered in a pastoral setting.
He is board
certified in general psychiatry and in child psychiatry. He
offers a conventional mental health practice including mainstream
diagnosis and treatment. He offers services including development
of peak performance for other clinicians and for non-clinician clients.
Therapeutic services are available for children, adolescents, adults,
couples and families. His approaches include evaluation and psychopharmacological
interventions. In addition, he provides integrated psychotherapy
interventions including cognitive behavior therapy, psychodynamically
focused psychotherapy, Transactional Analysis, Adaptive Information
Processing (EMDR), Developmental Needs Meeting
Strategy and energy psychotherapy methods.
Dr. Peterson works with a loosely aligned consortium of practitioners
who are focused on solving the client's problems and issues with
conventional and alternative treatments.
Dr. Peterson
is a talented speaker and offers several training
programs. He offers clinical training programs regionally and
nationally.
While Dr. Peterson
provides a conventional approach to healing, he also offers newly
developing, powerful healing methods, some of which are steeped
in thousands of years of Chinese and Indian healing tradition. These
traditions believe health problems begin with the body's energy
falling out of balance. In Chinese medicine, meridians are channels
for life energy flow. When people develop emotional blocks, they
simultaneously develop corresponding energy blocks. Theses energy
blocks can be addressed with new developed methods that can be utilized
in the psychotherapist's office.
One of the
concerns of practitioners of eastern medicine is that people receiving
the same therapy or medication for over a long period of time may
be merely suppressing the symptoms rather than addressing the core
(energy) problems. Energy healing can address the energy imbalance
and stop emotional/behavioral problem from reoccurring.
